Author Peterson joined IBM in 1956, as the company was awakening to the new world of computers. The book follows his experiences, some funny, others nostalgic, but all a romp.
Life In A Bit Factory Memories of 35 Years In IBM Mr C Don Peterson 9781463737276 Books
I enjoyed this look at the early days of computing from a veteran IBMer. The stories cover some of IBM's most legendary products--like the System/360, RAMAC and Stretch (IBM 7030) and there's an a easy-to-understand tutorial section on binary logic for beginners as well. Recommended for IBMers and students of computer history.Dag Spicer

Life In A Bit Factory Memories of 35 Years In IBM Mr C Don Peterson 9781463737276 Books Reviews
Seldom have I enjoyed reading a book about a successful company, but this is the exception. It is both funny and interesting. Peterson makes it serious and laughable and human. Nice to know the folks who were in on the ground floor of such a thriving American business. Several places made me stop and re-read because I'm not up on all the vernacular, but, for the most part, I could follow and understand. This is a most enjoyable book, particularly for the younger technical generation who seem to live and breathe this stuff. For the neophite, it is just fun to read....
